Privacy Policy
Effective 21 July 2026. This explains what PavingCalc collects when you price a job, what we do with it, and how to get it removed. It covers pavingcalc.com only.
What we collect
You can use the calculator without giving us anything. Nothing is stored until you submit the form at the end.
When you do submit, we store:
- Your name and email address, as you enter them.
- The property address you searched, plus the latitude and longitude we look up for it, and the city, state and postcode that lookup returns.
- The job details — measured area in square feet, job type, and the spec options you chose — along with the price range we showed you.
- Which button you used, so we know whether you wanted a saved estimate or a real quote.
Separately, we store the IP address of anyone submitting the form, with a counter and a timestamp. That exists only to stop automated abuse and is not connected to your estimate record.
What we do not collect
- The outline you draw is never saved. It exists in your browser while you measure and is discarded. We keep the resulting area figure and the map location — not the shape.
- We do not ask for a phone number, and the calculator has no field for one.
- We do not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies, or third-party pixels.
- We do not knowingly collect anything from children.
Who else processes it
We do not sell your information, and we do not currently share it with contractors or any other third party. There is no partner routing yet. If that changes we will update this page and ask for your agreement before sharing anything — we will not apply a new use to information already collected.
These providers process data in order to run the site:
- Vercel — hosting. Sees ordinary web request data, including IP address.
- Neon — the database your estimate is stored in.
- Mapbox — address search, geocoding and satellite imagery. Receives what you type into the address box and the map area you view.
- Clerk — sign-in for our own internal admin pages. Not loaded on any public page.
Why we are allowed to hold it
You asked us to price a job and save the result — that is the basis for keeping your estimate. Keeping IP counters for abuse prevention rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the service usable. We do not rely on consent for either, which is why there is no consent checkbox on the form.
How long we keep it
Estimates are kept while they are useful for the enquiry, and reviewed at least annually; anything older than 24 months with no further contact is deleted. Abuse-prevention IP records are short-lived and cleared on a rolling basis. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
Your choices
Email admin@pavingcalc.com and you can ask us to send you a copy of what we hold, correct it, or delete it. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm the email address the estimate was submitted from, so we do not hand your details to someone else.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights — for example, residents of some US states and of the UK and EU have statutory rights of access and deletion. We apply the above to everyone regardless of location.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Admin pages are behind authentication and restricted to named accounts. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and, where the change affects information we already hold, contact you before applying it.
